The Greek government are enforcing the payment of road tax for all trucks above 3.5 tonne.
No country roads
Trucks driving in Greece are not allowed to deviate their route to avoid paying road tax. As a consequence, trucks are forced to use the main roads only. Any deviation will result in a fine of 1,000 EURO for both the driver and the haulier.
Until the fine has been paid, the truck and cargo will be held back by authorities.
